On August 22-23, 2025, the China Textile Machinery Industry Science and Technology Conference, hosted by the China Textile Machinery Association, was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu. The conference covers macro and industrial development trends, artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies, the current status of industry technological innovation, as well as innovative practices in textile related processes and experiences in enterprise intelligent manufacturing development. The content is solid and rich, with technological innovation as the main theme, providing more valuable information references for textile machinery industry enterprises to layout their future. Although the textile industry was affected by complex foreign trade environment and sluggish domestic demand in the first half of the year, leading to increased business pressure, it demonstrated good resilience with a complete industrial system and international advantages. In the first half of the year, the utilization rates of production capacity in the textile and chemical fiber industries reached 77.8% and 86% respectively, higher than the national industrial average level; The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size increased by 3.1% year-on-year, and the output of 9 major products increased. Domestic sales grew moderately, per capita clothing consumption expenditure, retail sales of related commodities above the designated size and other indicators improved, and China-Chic, Big Health and other upgraded products sold well. The total export value of textiles and clothing from January to July this year was 170.74 billion US dollars, achieving year-on-year growth. Enterprises have hedged the impact of the decline in US exports by expanding diversified markets. At the same time, the industry's fixed assets investment has risen steadily, and technological transformation has become the focus. However, the income and profit of enterprises have declined year-on-year, and the pressure of quality and efficiency repair is great.

In this regard, the industry needs to take technological self-reliance and self-improvement as the core, and promote technological innovation work from five aspects: improving the scientific and technological research and development system, focusing on key technologies such as advanced materials and high-end equipment; Building a collaborative innovation platform system and leveraging the roles of different levels of platforms; Optimize the achievement transformation system and promote the flow and application of scientific and technological achievements; Establish a high-quality standard system, promote the construction of standards in emerging fields and international integration; Strengthen the talent cultivation system and cultivate multi-level professional talents. As a key part of the textile industry, the textile machinery industry needs to unite and use innovation to support the construction of a modern textile industry system.
